Empowerment for young women and girls aged 13-18 years through sports in Mbarara, Uganda
This is a two year project (2024-2026) supported by Australian government under its Direct Aid Program (DAP). Visit this
link for details. The project will be implemented in selected schools and communities of Mbarara City and its key objectives are the
following:
- To increase the level of sports participation and access to sports programs and facilities for women and girls in
schools and communities.
- To build capacity of teachers and community coaches to enhance provision of sport and physical activity services.
- To foster important life skills and values like self-confidence, leadership skills, fair play, communication, teamwork,
and social integration.
- To increase the availability of resources and equipment within local community clubs and schools.
